GES Celebrates 100th Day of School With A Can Food Drive

Goshen Elementary has decided to do something a little different this school year in their celebration of the 100th day of school. Because of the devastating earthquake that hit Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the school has decided to have a can food drive to help the victims that have been affected by this terrible tragedy. GES has asked everyone to bring in a can food, baby formula, or water to help with this cause. GES has contacted the American Red Cross in Brundidge to assist them with getting all of these items to the right source to be delivered to those in need in Haiti. The class that brings in at least 100 cans of goods will be acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to help their fellow man in need. We will begin accepting the can goods on Tuesday, January 26th, and continue through Monday, February 1st. This is our way of doing something great as a community, and we would like for every student to be a part of it said Mrs. Ucella Jones, second grade teacher in charge of this food drive.

On the first day of the can food drive Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Bhatti's  2nd grade classes have collected over 100 items for the food drive. We anticipate before the drive ends we will have many more classes to reach this goal of 100 can food items said Mrs. Corley, principal at GES, we have a great caring group of children at GES.
