On Tuesday, Feb 23rd the 4th graders at Goshen Elementary hosted a Black History Program for the 5th & 6th graders as well as many parents, gradnparents & friends. The title of the program was "A World of Change". The 4th graders had a show "Today in Alabama at Goshen Elementary School". J'Mialyn Barnes played the part of Tonya Terry and Brock Snyder played the part of Judd Davis. The 2 news anchors interviewed other 4th graders who played the parts of famous black Americans like Rosa Parks, Dr Martin Luther King Jr, Harriet Tubman, Micahel Jackson, Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, President Barack Obama, and many others.
There were two guest speakers at the program too. Both of these men played football at Troy University. One was Leodis McKelvin who currently plays football for the Buffalo Bills. The other was Zarah Yisrael who is currently getting his Master's Degree from Troy & awaiting the opportunity to enter the NFL Draft.
