Academy Application Period is OPEN

Academy Applications for the Pike County Schools Academy Programs have arrived. The Pike County School System is accepting applications for its academy programs from Monday, March 1 through Friday, March 26.  These exciting dual enrollment programs are designed to allow current 9th graders* to earn between 60 and 70 college credit hours and provide the opportunity for an associate degree. Be sure to apply before the closing date – applications will not be accepted late.

The application has required fields that must be completed before it may be submitted.  Most applicant information will be collected in the central portion of the application.  For the essay, there is a section in which a document should be uploaded.  Other supporting documents, like transcripts, attendance/discipline records, and teacher/administrator recommendation forms, will be completed upon applying.

For the ACT score field, if there is an ACT score to report, please do so.  Otherwise, following a review of the applications and supporting documents, an opportunity to participate in the ACCUPLACER – college placement exam - will be scheduled (for ESCC and Troy University).  You will receive more information about this part of the process at that time.

Regardless of whether an application is accepted or not, applicants will be notified of their status and be given alternative options to academy participation.  The Pike County School System's overarching goal is to prepare students to be college and career-ready to fill high-demand, high-wage jobs of the 21st Century workforce and beyond.

In addition to Academies, career technical short-term certificate dual enrollment programs are also available.  The application period for these programs will be through the month of April 2021.  More information about these exciting programs will be coming soon.
